About the Webinar:
This 100-level webinar training course will cover the Canadian Organic Regime (COR) as it pertains to processing operations.
The training will prepare participants to verify compliance with the COR Processing Standard. This course is geared to prepare those who intend to take further training to become organic inspectors or file reviewers. It is also highly recommended for working inspectors and reviewers who have taken a basic processing inspection course to a standard other than the COR. It is also recommended for organic handlers, processors, consultants, educators, extension, and certification agency staff. This course can be used as a credential to seek work as an entry-level certification file reviewer.
This Webinar Training course will focus on topics including the Organic Products Regulations, the General Principles and Management Standards & the Standard and the Canadian Permitted Substances Lists. Participants will gain skill in navigating the Organic Products Regulations as well as the Standard and PSL, understanding the labeling rules, inspection and certification requirements. It will also cover the issues relating to Canada’s two equivalency arrangements with the USA and the EU.

Scheduling:
The course is comprised of 3 components: self-study pre-webinar and mid-webinar assignments, the webinar sessions, and a final exam. The self-study component includes exercises that are completed and submitted in advance of the webinar and encourages participants to prepare and explore resources related to COR processing standards.
The webinar will include in-class discussion, examples, exercises and the opportunity for questions and answers. The course concludes with an exam to evaluate individual learning.
The course may require 2-4 hours to complete self-study pre-course exercises in advance of the webinar and approximately 1-1 ½ hours to complete the exam following the webinar.

Your Pre-Webinar Assignment will be emailed to you two weeks prior to the due date. Your Mid-Webinar assignment will be emailed to you at the conclusion of the Day 1 Session. Your Final Exam will be sent to you at the conclusion of the Day 2 Session.

Certificates: Participants who meet minimum requirements and turn in the pre-webinar and mid-webinar assignments, participating in both webinar presentations, and passing their final exam, will receive an IOIA/COTA Certificate of Completion.
Letters of Participation: Participants who attend the webinar but opt out of the assignment submission or fail to achieve a passing score will receive an IOIA/COTA Letter of Participation, to document their attendance.
