December 4, 2026: Technical Assistance vs. Consulting

Date: December 04 2026
Non member Price: $200

Course Description

About the Webinar:

This training analyses the regulations and the Technical Assistance instruction 2614 in the NOP Program Handbook, as well as the ISO requirements for consulting. It contains interactive questions, three concepts that prevent technical assistance, as well as an analysis that helps debunk each one of them.

This training addresses certifiers as well as inspectors. Certifiers can receive noncompliances for providing information from auditors, but they might be ill-equipped to have the conversation/ to rebut.

Technical Assistance is a NOP requirement in 205.501(a)(8), but certifiers often fall short for fear of providing consulting.

Certifier staff can provide much better customer service if they clearly understand the line between technical assistance and consulting.

Customer service and providing technical assistance are practically synonymous.

The training addresses certifiers as well as inspectors who are discouraged from providing information to operators, and without that it is difficult to create a cooperative environment at inspection.

The regulations have gotten more difficult. Without individualized technical assistance, communication between certifier and operator is impaired. Good technical assistance allows operators to create better organic systems.
