Fraud has always been an issue for organic, but the request that inspectors talk about fraud during the inspection is new since Strengthening Organic Enforcement (published Jan. 19, 2023. Fully implemented March 19, 2024).
At the same time, good inspections require cooperation between operators and inspectors. Suspicion and trust tend to be mutually exclusive. Since SOE, inspectors have to actively work to create the trust it takes to cooperate. Interpersonal skills are often dismissed as personality traits; yet, there are principles that can be learned.
