Process to advance organic standards moves forward

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) National Organic Program (NOP) will hold a virtual public listening session March 21, with request for comment, regarding upcoming standards development activities, including feedback about specific recommendations received from the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB). This comes as the result of years of advocacy by the Organic Trade Association (OTA) and Congress to create transparency around the organic rulemaking process. Read OTA's response. The session will take place starting at 1 p.m. Eastern/ 3 p.m. Pacific March 21.

It is too late to sign up to make oral comments. However, the deadline for written comments is March 30.
